Portfolio - Housing and living environment

Housing and living environment
Building a future-proof Brandevoort together!
The Housing & Living Environment portfolio forms the beating heart of our neighborhood development. It focuses on the quality of our living environment, from the greenery in our streets to the infrastructure that connects us. It is a broad portfolio built on four key pillars:

Greening the neighborhood
A green neighborhood is a healthy neighborhood. That is why we are committed to adding more trees, flower beds, green façades, and biodiversity in Brandevoort. Greening helps reduce heat during warm summers, improves water retention during heavy rainfall, and creates a pleasant living environment for both people and wildlife. Examples include community planting days, green playgrounds, and encouraging green roofs and gardens.
Public space
Public space belongs to all of us. We aim for a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where residents can meet and connect. This includes maintaining squares, benches, playgrounds, and walking routes. We also take a critical look at the design of new residential areas to ensure they match the character of Brandevoort and contribute to social cohesion.

Traffic and Infrastructure
A well-accessible neighborhood is essential. Within this portfolio, we focus on traffic safety, parking policy, cycling routes, and connections to public transport. We listen to signals from residents about bottlenecks and help think of smart solutions, such as safe crossings and promoting sustainable mobility.
Sustainability and Energy Transition
Brandevoort is growing, which calls for forward-looking choices. Within this pillar, we focus on energy saving, sustainable construction, and accelerating the energy transition. We support resident initiatives such as shared solar panels, insulation projects, and awareness campaigns. Together, we are preparing the neighborhood for a climate-friendly future.
This portfolio touches everything that makes Brandevoort livable, beautiful, and sustainable. Do you have ideas, concerns, or would you like to contribute to your living environment? Join the district council or get in touch, because together we make Brandevoort even better!
