Op woensdag avond 6 mei tijdens het wijkradenoverleg Helmond is Lex van Gennip benoemd tot Erevoorzitter van Wijkraad Brandevoort:

Gedurende meer dan twaalf jaar heeft Lex van Gennip zich met grote toewijding ingezet voor de gemeenschap van Brandevoort. Vanuit zijn betrokkenheid bij de Jeugdraad (2,5 jaar) tot zijn tienjarig voorzitterschap van de Wijkraad stond steeds één doel centraal: een sterke, veilige en verbonden wijk.

At a time when the District Council had to be rebuilt, he took the initiative to restore the board and safeguard the representation of local residents. Under his leadership, numerous initiatives were realised that have made a lasting contribution to the quality of life in Brandevoort, including meeting places for young people, neighbourhood watch initiatives and projects that bring young people, residents and local associations together.

Lex stond bekend om zijn betrokkenheid bij veiligheid, zijn inzet voor jeugd en zijn vermogen om mensen samen te brengen. Door samenwerking met bewoners, vrijwilligers, politie en maatschappelijke organisaties wist hij ideeën om te zetten in concrete resultaten voor de wijk.

Zijn inzet heeft een blijvende bijdrage geleverd aan de ontwikkeling en samenhang van Brandevoort. Daarom werd Lex van Gennip benoemd tot erevoorzitter van Wijkraad Brandevoort op 6 mei 2026

Lex van Gennip ~ Honorary Chair

On Wednesday evening, 6 May, during the Helmond district councils meeting, Lex van Gennip was appointed Honorary Chair of Wijkraad Brandevoort.
For more than twelve years, Lex van Gennip dedicated himself with great commitment to the Brandevoort community. From his involvement with the Youth Council for two and a half years to his ten years as Chair of the District Council, one goal always remained central: a strong, safe and connected neighbourhood.

At a time when the District Council had to be rebuilt, he took the initiative to restore the board and safeguard the representation of local residents. Under his leadership, numerous initiatives were realised that have made a lasting contribution to the quality of life in Brandevoort, including meeting places for young people, neighbourhood watch initiatives and projects that bring young people, residents and local associations together.

Lex was known for his commitment to safety, his dedication to young people and his ability to bring people together. By working closely with residents, volunteers, the police and community organisations, he was able to turn ideas into tangible results for the neighbourhood.

His efforts have made a lasting contribution to the development and sense of community in Brandevoort. In recognition of this, Lex van Gennip was appointed Lex van Gennip benoemd tot Honorary Chair of Wijkraad Brandevoort on 6 May 2026.
